Demonstration analysis · not a client engagement
A pooled score suggested balance. The sources told opposing stories.
This bounded demonstration uses an independently assembled sample about Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones to show what source-aware interpretation adds beyond a combined sentiment chart.
Decision question
Does the combined evidence hide meaningful differences in comfort perception?
The demonstration compares equal-sized samples from YouTube comments, Best Buy product reviews and Sony-hosted product reviews. The selected corpus is deliberately bounded and frozen so the result can be reproduced for that run.
The analysis is not presented as a population estimate, a platform ranking or evidence that every customer on one platform thinks alike.
Key finding
Aggregation concealed substantial source divergence.
Best Buy+66.7
Sony-hosted−9.1
YouTube−71.4
For the 27 observations applicable to comfort, the pooled result was numerically balanced while the source-conditioned results pointed in sharply different directions.
Interpretation
The average was not false. It was evidentially incomplete.
A single combined value could support the conclusion that comfort opinion was evenly divided. Retaining source environment revealed that this apparent balance came from opposing groups rather than broad agreement around neutrality.
The useful business implication is not “one platform is right.” It is that comfort claims should be qualified by audience and source context, and validated with evidence designed for the intended decision.

Limits
What this demonstration does not establish.
- It does not estimate sentiment across all buyers or all available online discussion.
- It does not prove that the platforms themselves caused the observed differences.
- It does not treat 27 comfort observations as a statistically representative market sample.
- It does not imply endorsement by or affiliation with Sony, Best Buy or YouTube.
- It demonstrates the analytical value of preserving source context for this selected corpus.
